2019 Expense Breakdown
5% Administration includes annual audit or audit review (depending on funds received), fundraising expenses, and grant levies.
12% Publishing excludes grant-funded books. Book sales offset this.
83% Operations covers general library programming, literacy classes, theatre outreach, books and library supplies, Ghana staff expenses* (government health care insurance premiums and transport allowances), and day-to-day maintenance and repairs.
*The majority of staff salaries are paid by local district assemblies and the Ghana Education Service.
