Librarians from Goi and public health nurses from the Ada West District initiated a successful campaign to promote reading to babies.

Participants (750!) walked, danced, and sang along a 25 km parade route. Georgina, a Nungua library participant wrote, “It was an exercise of a lifetime!”
Library Theatre Festival
Our annual Festival under the leadership of Martin Adjei Legend showcases the talents of Ghana’s youth. It features drumming, dancing (cultural and contemporary), and theatre.
The Forbidden Sacrifice by Martin Adjei Legend
Performers from the Kathy Knowles Theatre Company Ltd. staged this play at the Nima Centre. Eric Rose and Tyler Sainsbury of Canada generously provided leadership.

Following this recording, Khadijah Yaa Forkor, a literacy learner, entered Accra’s Ringway Junior High School and successfully completed JHS 3 or a Grade 9 equivalent.
The Orphans of Qumbu by Michael Williams
Performers from the Kathy Knowles Theatre Company Ltd. staged this production at the Nima Centre. Martin Adjei Legend and Canadian Sophie Knowles directed this opera.
A Library Song
Massawudu Zakari, a 12-year-old library member, wrote the lyrics for this music. His group – The Lucky Ones – performed the song in an Accra recording studio.
